全球化背景下，向世界講好中國(guó)故事，且正確講述中國(guó)故事，推動(dòng)中國(guó)文化走出去，讓世界了解中國(guó)，已成為當(dāng)代中國(guó)的國(guó)家戰(zhàn)略。中國(guó)古典文學(xué)英譯是這一戰(zhàn)略的重要組成部分。中國(guó)古典詩(shī)詞英譯，可以幫助外國(guó)讀者進(jìn)一步了解中國(guó)文學(xué)悠久的傳統(tǒng)和輝煌成就，從而對(duì)中國(guó)文化有更全面、更深刻的了解和認(rèn)識(shí)，繼而實(shí)現(xiàn)文明互鑒和民心相通。
本書(shū)選擇了一百首中國(guó)歷代經(jīng)典詩(shī)、詞、小令以及銘文，它們大多是中國(guó)人耳熟能詳、出口可誦的文章。其中三件作品（劉禹錫的《陋室銘》、楊慎的《臨江仙•滾滾長(zhǎng)江東逝水》、羅庸的《西南聯(lián)大校歌》）的入選使本書(shū)成為別具特色的漢詩(shī)英譯選集。在充分研究、考證的基礎(chǔ)上，譯者力求“知詩(shī)真意，傳其真意；知詩(shī)神韻，傳其神韻”，并用英文把中國(guó)經(jīng)典詩(shī)詞的意象、意境和神韻之美等表達(dá)出來(lái)。譯者愛(ài)詩(shī)、寫(xiě)詩(shī)，以詩(shī)人之心譯詩(shī)，其譯詩(shī)自得原詩(shī)之妙。
尹紹東，現(xiàn)為云南師范大學(xué)外國(guó)語(yǔ)學(xué)院教師。耕耘教壇二十余載，淡泊寧?kù)o，獨(dú)鐘詩(shī)詞翻譯，對(duì)許多中國(guó)古典詩(shī)詞有自己的獨(dú)到見(jiàn)解和翻譯。近年來(lái)主要出版物包括兩部譯著：苗族長(zhǎng)篇敘事詩(shī)《金笛》、瀕危語(yǔ)言學(xué)術(shù)著作《撒都語(yǔ)研究》（合譯）；一部個(gè)人詩(shī)集：《清風(fēng)無(wú)語(yǔ)》；兩部英語(yǔ)專(zhuān)業(yè)精讀教材（合編），及多篇學(xué)術(shù)文章。
