全書(shū)由電子技術(shù)篇、通信技術(shù)篇、計(jì)算機(jī)篇三部分組成，共27個(gè)單元。其中電子技術(shù)篇9個(gè)單元，通信技術(shù)篇9個(gè)單元，計(jì)算機(jī)篇9個(gè)單元。每個(gè)單元由課文、閱讀、翻譯技巧及實(shí)用英語(yǔ)組成，內(nèi)容以電子信息、通信和計(jì)算機(jī)方面現(xiàn)代科技新技術(shù)、新發(fā)展為主。對(duì)課文中出現(xiàn)的一些語(yǔ)言現(xiàn)象、難點(diǎn)、難句均作了較詳細(xì)的注釋。每篇課文和閱讀后配有生詞表、專業(yè)術(shù)語(yǔ)和相應(yīng)的練習(xí)，在一定程度上減輕了學(xué)習(xí)的難度。書(shū)中每篇文章的內(nèi)容是獨(dú)立的，便于學(xué)習(xí)時(shí)根據(jù)需要選讀。書(shū)末附有參考譯文和練習(xí)答案，供讀者參考對(duì)照和理解原文。

本書(shū)由楊澤清擔(dān)任主編，胡智娟、瞿小平擔(dān)任副主編。楊澤清編寫(xiě)了Unit2、Unit24～27、Unitl9～23的A、B部分、Unit8、15、16的c部分；胡智娟編寫(xiě)了Unit10～18的A、B部分、Unit21的c部分；瞿小平編寫(xiě)了Unitl、3、4、6、9、Unit5、7、8的A、B部分、Unit10、11的c部分；楊澤雅編寫(xiě)了Unit5、7、12～14、17～20、22～23的C部分。
本書(shū)在編寫(xiě)時(shí)，參考了大量的文獻(xiàn)資料及一些專業(yè)網(wǎng)站，在此向這些文獻(xiàn)資料的作者深表謝意。

Home Theater
Millions of TV viewers and music lovers around the world today are enjoying the unique entertainment experience provided by "home theater" audio/video systems. Common to all these systems, from the simplest to the most elaborate, is Dolby Surround sound[1].
Home theater is a very relative term. The term home theater is used to describe the recent evo-lution of audio and video systems that offer exceptional quality and superior performance, in essence, it is like having a movie theater in your own living room.
The smallest level of home theater consists of a HiFi VCR, and a stereo TV. All that is neededis wiring to run from place to place in order to connect everything. A better setup may be a DVDplayer fed through a stereo system and a larger television set, or as elaborate as an entire room professionally wired with multiple speakers and a projection screen. A home theater system may eveninclude theaterstyle chairs and an elevated floor for optical viewing. The whole purpose of home theater is to have a nice big picture, as well as deepbass handling sound and surround sound. A verygood home theater setup will rival or even beat out the local movie theater in terms of quality.
However, when someone mentions the words "home theater", it is understood that there is atleast a 29" TV, a Dolby ProLogic receiver, and a HiFi DVD[2]. This is a basic Dolby Surroundsystem, it has four speakers: Left and Right for the front, a Center speaker, and a Surround Speaker. If you plan to buy AC-3 system, you will enter a new age of Dolby Digital Surround.
